Choosing the right newborn photography session is an important part of planning for your baby’s arrival. Every family has a different vision, which is why we offer three styles of newborn photography to suit a variety of preferences and comfort levels.

We are a North Vancouver newborn photography studio that also offers in-home newborn photography sessions across Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Richmond, richmond and all surrounding areas. Travel fees apply for in-home sessions outside of the North Shore to cover time and driving.

Below, you’ll find an overview of the three newborn session types we offer and guidance on choosing the best one for your family.

Newborn Lifestyle Photography -

Newborn lifestyle photography focuses on natural moments, connection, and storytelling. These sessions are relaxed, baby-led, and designed to capture real-life interactions with your newborn.

Lifestyle newborn sessions can take place in the studio or in your home. In-home newborn photography is especially popular for families who want photos in their own space, capturing meaningful details like nursery rooms, cuddles on the couch, feeding moments, and quiet bonding time. These sessions are best captured within a month; however, we do offer them up to 2 months old.

Lifestyle images are very lightly edited both in the studio and at home. In the studio, we treat your space like your home. We use blankets, couches and wraps. No props are ever used in these sessions.

For an in-home session, we ensure we move everything out of the way at the start of your session (clean up spaces around your couch, side tables in the bedroom, and any other spaces you’d like to use). We do not remove objects in the background from the final edited images.

Lifestyle sessions are Popular for families who love natural light, candid moments, and a documentary style approach to newborn photography. Posed Newborn Photography

Posed newborn photography creates timeless, classic images using gentle posing, wraps, and props in carefully styled setups. These sessions are best suited for newborns under 14 days old; however, we can capture them up to 21 days old if needed. They take place in our North Shore newborn photography studio, where everything is designed with comfort and safety in mind. You can also have an in-home newborn posed session; however, please note that an extra fee will be added to the package because we have to set up a full studio in your home.

During a posed newborn session, your baby is softly positioned using professional props, blankets, and backdrops. These sessions are unhurried and allow plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and breaks as needed. Parents and siblings may be included depending on the session style.

Wrapped Newborn Photography

Wrapped newborn photography focuses on your baby being fully or partially wrapped throughout the session. These sessions do not include unwrapped poses or poses that require a lot of patience and time. These sessions are typically shorter than full-posed newborn sessions. These sessions are best captured under 21 days old but we have captured up to a month old!

Wrapped newborn sessions are great for babies who feel most comfortable staying snug and settled. Using wraps and simple props, this style creates clean, cozy, and timeless newborn images. Parent and sibling photos may be included, depending on the chosen session option.

This session can be captured in the studio or in the comfort of your home ( additional fees apply).
