Our Signature Santa Sessions November 3rd-5th, 2023

An event that has been a tradition in our business for over 8 years. Santa comes down from the North Pole to the CopperPenny Distilling event space for one weekend every year. These bookings are not only photography sessions but, they have now become experiences which have brought so much joy to children and their families.

If you haven’t booked one of our Santa Sessions before, here are some of our past events!

  • Santa with ice cream at the Welcome Parlour Ice Cream.

  • Santa brought down his 8ft sleigh and had falling snow.

  • Santa had a naughty and nice list!

  • Santa had a snowball fight with kids.

  • One of Cypress Hills’ old chair lifts was a prop.

  • Santa was in a chimney over COVID-19. But still made it!

  • Santa had an oversized fireplace in his living room that children could sit on in front of an (editing) burning fire.

  • Santa has read books and shown children some special Christmas toys.

  • Santa had some magic glitter show up glowing from the nice list in his Santa book.

What will the theme be this year? We always try to have fun and unique sets which create the perfect backdrops for the Santa magic!

How to prepare for these sessions -

Clothing -

Each year we have several different backdrops from white snowy scenes to red and green trees and brown tones with a slight rustic feel. Think the North Pole ;) We want our clients to feel comfortable and dress however they’d like. We advise not wearing florescent, outfits covered in words or black!

Preparing your children -

Some parents like to keep this event a surprise while others like to preload their children before they arrive. Either way, we can faithfully say that Santa and I have a lot of experience capturing children of every age. I have been a family photographer for over 8 years but Santa has been bringing joy to children for years ;). From the drop-and-go sessions where we have 10 seconds to capture a 6-month to 2-year-old with Santa before the tears start, to the teenagers who don’t believe in the magic of Santa but have a younger sibling who does. We have captured them all!

If you have a neurodivergent child who may require a little extra time or to be loaded, please contact anita@markyourmoments.ca

What to expect -

We always have a visit with Santa where we capture the photo memories then, there is an experience with Santa which we hope all children will remember! Everyone has a set photography time ( based on the booking times clients have made). There is no waiting in line, just a set, very special photoshoot and visit. We strive to ensure these sessions are calm, special and magical for everyone.
